Dr. Merja Männistö is the Head of Diak’s new Master School
During the past year, Diak has developed the concept, contents and operating models of its Master degrees based on student feedback and the needs of working life. Diak Master School will be launched during the autumn 2023. Its degree programmes prepare students for development and management roles in the fields of social and health care, diaconia and interpreting.
The organisation of teaching and research activities for Diak’s higher degrees has been developed further. In the future, Diak Master School will form its own team, which is led by Dr. Männistö. Her team consists of Senior Lecturers and Principal Lecturers.
Dr. Männistö has a long experience of working in HEIs. She has a strong expertise in pedagogical development as well as research, development and innovation activities. Dr. Männistö has worked in teaching, research and management positions at the Oulu University of Applied Sciences and at the University of Oulu. She has extensive national and international connections.
“I am looking forward to my new role as the Head of Diak’s working life and future-oriented Master School. Diak Master School has been set ambitious goals. It is great to be able to create something new and develop Diak in accordance with its strategy together with skilled personnel.
