Future digital service for higher education institutions called Opin.fi

Finnish higher education institutions have been developing a new digital service as part of the Digivisio 2030 project. Digivisio’s first implementation’s working title has been continuous and flexible learning tray. Now the service has an official name: Opin.fi. This name will be in use from 12 December 2023. The service will also be referred to by the same name in Swedish and English, and it will be launched in 2025.

At the heart of Digivisio 2030 is the lifelong learner. Opin.fi will combine the continuous learning offerings of Finnish higher education institutions so that learners can access them easily and effortlessly from one place.

Alongside the broader training packages, the service will also bring together other learning content such as seminars, open lectures and podcasts. The information gathered in a single service will make it easier for learners to find the content that suits their own life situation and needs.

Opin.fi has been under development and construction for about two years. During this period, the service has been co-developed and piloted together with higher education institutions. The aim is to have Opin.fi available for lifelong learners by 2025. The timetable will be specified closer to the launch of the service.
