Bachelor’s Degree Programme in Social Services, Christian Youth Work (in Finnish)
The Bachelor’s Degree Programme in Social Services, Christian Youth Work offers a route to both social service roles and the position of Parish Coordinator for Youth Work in the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Finland.
The programme prepares students for a range of social service roles in early childhood education, youth work, child protection, mental health work, work with offenders, immigrants, seniors and people with disabilities, service guidance, social insurance, employment services and rehabilitation in the public and third sectors and private-sector service provision.
In addition, the programme provides the regulated qualification required for youth work in the Evangelical-Lutheran Church and various Christian organisations.
Youth workers are professionals who support young people’s social and emotional growth. Interpersonal and counselling skills are key tools for youth workers. They work with children, young people and families in various settings.
They can work with small and large groups as well as individuals. The work involves counselling, guidance on education planning, teaching and development.
Extent: 210 credit points (ECTS)
