Doctor of Theology Elina Juntunen has been chosen as the new CEO-Rector of Diak. She starts in her position after mid-January 2021.
From 1 January 2021 onwards, all degree students in higher education, including Diak’s students, will be entitled to use Finnish Student Health Service’s (FSHS), services.
Diaconia University of Applied Sciences has launched a new strategy 2021–2030 today, the 30th of November 2020. The new strategy has been created by Diak’s students, staff, and partners.
“Diakle” has been selected as the new name of Diak’s learning platform. The jury selected the new name among around 250 entries. The new name is taken officially into use on 11th of January 2021.
Diak’s task force on corona situation has decided that teaching continues mostly online until the end of February 2021. The task force continues to follow the development of the corona situation and to monitor national as well as regional alignments closely. It will adjust the guidelines when needed.
The corona situation has gotten worse especially in the capital region. A large amount of new COVID-19 cases can be tracked to situations that feel familiar and safe.
BLENDI – Blended Learning for Inclusion is a project that promotes blended learning across Europe. Blended learning refers to a situation where elements of online learning are systematically introduced to complement traditional teaching in classrooms.

Diak collected feedback from first- and third-year students last May using feedback surveys. Diak’s teams have gone through the feedback, and feedback from our graduates last year, and defined the development activities we will be reporting on in this news.
