The Board of Directors of Diaconia University of Applied Sciences has in its meeting on 11 May 2021 discussed alternatives for Diak’s future geographical campus models. The Board reviewed ten alternatives as presented by Diak’s CEO, Rector Elina Juntunen.
Alumni poll is a questionnaire targeting Diak graduates. The poll takes place every two years and it aims at developing Diak’s alumni activities.
Because the corona situation remains alarming in Finland, Diak’s task force on corona situation has decided that campuses remain closed until 11 April 2021. The task force decided earlier that the campuses are closed between 8 and 28 March. According to the update, the campuses will be opened 12 April 2021.
Diak’s new simulation class has been introduced on the Helsinki campus and the first simulations are implemented in early March successfully.
The coronavirus situation has worsened across the country in recent weeks. All of Diak’s campus locations are either in the phase of accelerating or spreading the corona epidemic, or close to moving to these phases. For this reason, Diak has also updated its corona instructions.

Diak’s Helsinki campus is closed 19 February 2021, because on Wednesday 17 of February there has been a person in the premises who has later been tested COVID-19 positive.
The Finnish Ministry of Education and Culture has granted higher education institutions and student unions a funding of six million euros in total for strengthening student welfare, guidance and support. Out of this sum, Diak and its partners have received 808 500 euros in total for improving student welfare services.
