Cross-Institutional Studies
As a Diak degree student, you can expand your study opportunities by completing studies from another Finnish higher education institution and include these studies in your degree. Before enrollment make sure that the courses are suitable for your degree. Please send an email to your study guidance counselor before enrolling on the courses and ensure that the studies can be accepted into your degree program.
Cross-institutional study is an opportunity for a higher education student to complete studies from another Finnish higher education institution and include these studies in your degree. Cross-institutional studying is described more precisely by the following features:
- The student has a valid right to study at their home university, on the basis of which they can complete studies.
- The student must be enrolled as present at the home university.
- The student can choose courses from another higher education institution as agreed by the higher education institutions.
- Student will be granted a temporary study right at the target higher education institution to complete studies.
- Before enrollment make sure that the courses are suitable for your degree.
- The studies adhere to the rules and regulations of the institution providing the instruction.
Cross-Institutional Study Networks
- Campusonline (Bachelor’s/Master’s).CampusOnline is a year-round digital course offering provided jointly by Finnish universities of applied sciences. You can select courses from more than 20 universities of applied sciences in the student administration system of your own institution (MyDiak).Courses from other UAS are published in accordance with the annual calendar of the organising university, usually at least two weeks before the enrolment to the course in question begins.

How to register for the studies
- Carefully review the course offerings and make sure that the courses are suitable for your degree.
- Please send an email to your study guidance counselor before enrolling on the courses and ensure that the studies can be accepted into your degree program.
- Enroll for the study module you want to take. You can find the instructions for enrollment in the guide portal.
- After registration, you will receive detailed instructions from the higher education institution organizing the course.
- When you enroll via MyDiak, the completions is automatically transferred to your PSP/HOPS without separate application.
Cross-institutional Student arriving at Diak from another higher education institution
Welcome to study at Diak University of Applied Sciences. Please review the instructions below before the course starts.
- You will receive a confirmation email when your enrollment is accepted (Note: The email may end up in your spam folder). The Student Affairs Office accepts enrollments once a week.
- All students and employees at Diak need to acquire their personal Diak user account. You need to activate your account yourself with the Diak Identity Service at id.diak.fi.
You may activate your account three days after receiving your study entitlement. More information and instructions can be found on on Diak’s online guide. - Diakle. Diakle is Diak’s virtual learning environment, so start your studies by logging into the course area of your course in Diakle. In the Diakle course area, you will find all the instructions for completing the course. Diakle can be found directly at https://diakle.diak.fi. Logging in is done via the “Student/Staff Login” button on the login page.For more Diakle instructions, see our instructions site.
- Timetables: You can find timetables from lukujarjestykset.diak.fi.
Good to know:
- The courses usually have a quota, that is, a certain number of places reserved for cross-institutional students. Enroll for studies well in advance to make sure you will get in.
- Right to study as a cross-institutional student. As a cross-institutional student, you will be granted a temporary right to study at DIAK. The length of the right to study is determined on the basis of the studies you are completing. With the right to study, you can only study the cross-institutional studies that you have selected.
